Trusted by thousands
I use this pharmacy all the time and have always received great service. They're also very patient given the abuse They're subjected to and I've never heard them be anything other than professional. I've witnessed people kicking off because the pharmacy doesn't have their prescription and therefore they can't issue it - that's not the fault of the pharmacy! Yes, the wait times can be long but the pharmacy is positioned between two very busy Doctors surgeries so that's to be expected. There are times of the day when it's quieter so, if you can, pick your moment and go then instead if you don't want to wait.
I got bitten by a bug 🐝 on my allotment 4 days ago, painful and red lumps with heat, discharge and with swelling. Saw the pharmacist almost immediately, into the consultation room, 5 mins later on a course of antibiotics. Great service much better than waiting ages to see a GP. Absolutely brilliant service 👏🙏
Been using the pharmacy for about 6 years now as I’m nearby. All the staff are polite and professional and are great with any queries.
Being a local pharmacy, it can be very expensive if you need to grab something essential. Then again, you’re so close to town, you could just grab the bus or walk to Boots or somewhere slightly cheaper — but the majority of the time, people will be coming here for prescriptions anyways.
Recently had my Covid and flu jabs here also, and they were quick and to the point. There’s a small consultation room for privacy.
It can be really cramped at times which can be concerning considering people are collecting medication for themselves or others who are sick, so I’d suggest masking up or coming here when it’s a bit quieter.
How is this place still even open let alone getting decent reviews, thats beyond me you can be 1 of 3 people an the wait time is still over 20 mins. Then you get given your medication to find that the imcompetent woman who has previously missed medication off of many peoples prescription has gone an done the same again. You try an ring because there is no chance you can get back there before they close to be stuck listening to some kind of orchestra on hold. Umm that doesnt suit everyone. How about have a bit of decency for people who have to sit on hold who have sensory issues. Theres much more appropriate sounds you can use. I used to like this chemist but its gone down hill so badly recently. You need to sort your staff out an actually get them to do the job they are signed up for an maybe get them to pay attention to details infront of them.
I spent waiting for a consultant for 45 minutes but didn't mind as you could clearly see they was busy. When I was seen I was seen professionally and the consultant was very understanding and helpful
Courteous and friendly staff. A small pharmacy but well-organised and with decent parking.
Avicenna pharmacy staff are so rude , there’s a man what works in there and he’s so rude . I asked him to tell me nicely even said please what tablets have I’ve got there he was like I can’t be bothered to read them out and put the phone down I don’t appreciate that I’ve got learning disabilities aswel he always rude towards me and I notice he’s rude to other customers to 💔
Very annoyed with this pharmacy, been going to them for a while now and everything was fine. They changed when they dropped Avicenna and now they have decided to tamper and change my husbands and my details, they have taken it upon themselves to be our nominated pharmacy at the doctors - we have NEVER given them this authorisation and DO NOT want a nominated pharmacy on our medical records. According to GDPR they are not allowed to change records like this without our consent, I am now going to be reporting them this action. BE CAREFUL when dealing with them.
Friendly staff very helpful
Well organised, friendly essential local service for us Matson ppl. Thanks for being there. In 6 years I have always had (and witnessed other customers have) positive interactions with the staff in this busy pharmacy.
I have always found the staff at Alvechurch pharmacy to be very polite and helpful. Prescriptions have always been fulfilled in a timely manner unless the item is not available. If this happens I am notified when it does become available. Unavailability is an issue with most if not all pharmacies.
Unfortunately because of the change in parking at the Alvechurch Inn I will probably have to change where I go. A shame.
Refused to sell eye drops for a 92 year old who had just had treatment for ARMD, despite me getting the surgeon to speak to them on the phone. Then advised me to go to another pharmacy. Why?
We used the walk in facility to get our Covid booster jabs today and cannot rate this pharmacy highly enough. Our email message to them was promptly answered and our visit made most pleasant by friendly staff and very gentle nurse. Thank you so much!
I have always had good experiences with this pharmacy. Today I witnessed someone being given very personalized treatment, which had been ordered specially for them as they couldn't travel far from the village. I needed a vaccination, which was administered quickly and efficiently despite having not booked and the pharmacy being low on staff due to absence. The staff were sympathetic and considerate and went above and beyond to help me in difficult circumstances.
1 star is generous
Never known staff in a pharmacy to be so incompetent.
Honestly, every time I go there, I have to wait long for my prescriptions. The staff are so slow, no urgency to attend to their customers. They forget to give you part of your prescription, happened on more than 1 occasion, so I have to trek back there for the rest of it, no apologies, honestly they just don't care, customer service is dreadful, some staff are rude, think they know it all but know very little as expressed by their poor demeanor. Need to switch chemists ASAP.
